One UI 8.5 rollout expands across eligible Galaxy devices

One UI 8.5 began its official rollout in May 2026 and is being distributed in waves rather than as a single global release. Flagship Galaxy S and Galaxy Z devices were served first, with mid-range Galaxy A models following as regional firmware branches are approved.

Because Samsung builds firmware per model and per sales region, two identical handsets can be on different versions at the same time. The controlling factors are the device model number, the country, the CSC recorded on the device, the carrier, the chipset variant and the internal release schedule.
