One UI 8.5

One UI 8.5 is rolling out in waves, not all at once

One UI 8.5 began its official rollout in May 2026 and is being distributed progressively across eligible Galaxy devices. Flagship Galaxy S and Galaxy Z models were served first, with further families added as regional firmware branches are approved.

Because Samsung compiles firmware per model and per sales region, two identical handsets can legitimately sit on different versions at the same moment. Software availability varies according to:

  • Device model
  • Country
  • CSC
  • Carrier

  • Release schedule

Security Update Tracker

Samsung's security update cadence, explained
