One UI 8.5

One UI 8.5 began its official rollout in May 2026 and is being distributed across eligible Galaxy devices in waves.

Release date: 01 May 2026
Android base: 16
Status: Rolling out
Eligible devices: 16

One UI 8.5 is based on Android 16. Distribution is staged: flagship Galaxy S and Galaxy Z models are typically served first, with mid-range Galaxy A models following as regional firmware branches receive approval.

A staged rollout means the same marketing model can be on two different versions simultaneously in two different markets. This is normal behaviour and not an indication of a fault.
